Our Counselors
Bill Riley, LMHC -- NPC Director
Bill works as counselor and director of New Promise Counseling (NPC). Bill is also the founder of New Promise International, Inc., a 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to international mental health education, child medical care and disaster relief.
Bill is a Florida State licensed mental health counselor. Bill holds a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and is working on his PhD in Psychology. Bill's post graduate work includes studies in the fields of depression, anxiety, trauma (certified to do EMDR therapy), sexual abuse and adult survivors of sexual abuse, sex addictions and sexual dysfunction, grief, addictions, marriage and family counseling, couple counseling, parenting, reactive attachment disorder (RAD, both in children and adults), codependency, and various theories of counseling and therapy. Bill's primary theory of counseling is based on a combination of cognitive behavioral (CBT) and relational (ORT) with other types of theories used when a specific diagnoses requires (such as DBT for Borderline PD). Bill works in the following settings:

- Professional development counseling
Additionally, Bill does Executive Coaching and Team Development. Bill has a corporate executive and management background.
Russ Philips, M.A., M.B.A., LMHC, LMFT
Russ is a Florida State Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Russ works both as counselor and consultant in the following settings:
- Individual therapy
- Marriage and family therapy
- Pre marital counseling
- Couple counseling
- Group therapy
- Professional development counseling
Amy Roza, M.A., RMHI
Amy is a Florida State Registered Mental Health Counselor intern and is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary.
Amy specializes in women issues, including sexual abuse, childhood trauma, and addictions. Amy is a regular speaker / facilitator at women and adolescent retreats. Amy works in the following settings:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Couples
Josh Grover, M.A., RMHI
Josh is a Florida State Registered Mental Health Counselor intern and is also a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary.
Josh specializes in working with boys and men who struggle with a lack of personal direction and marital counseling. Josh uses various theories of counseling in his practice, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gestalt and Objects relations Theory.
Josh uses the following settings for counseling:
